We all enjoy being surrounded by nature and feeling its presence around us so, if we can’t live in the middle of nature we find ways to bring it inside our houses.

For this holiday house extension, our goal was to maximize the views towards the lush, intimate garden and create a calming, subtle interior that complements the 70s style the original house was built in.

Despite its compact footprint, the house's interior feels bright and spacious due to the use of light-coloured timber and the height of the main living area.

Windows incorporated into the southern elevation blur the boundary between inside and outside, while skylights positioned above the bedroom and shower room allow plenty of natural light to enter.
